HALESOWEN and Rowley Regis Rotary Club has elected a new president for the coming year.

Retired business owner David Poston, aged 70, joined the rotary in 1992.

The father-of-two and grandfather-of-one started his own firm called People Seating Ltd in 1991.

It designed and manufactured high performance seating for the railway and shipping industries and employed 30 people.

He sold off the company, which had a factory in Netherton, when he retired due to having his leg amputated after an injury caused by treading on a piece of glass became infected.

Mr Poston, who lives in Hill View Close, Belle Vale, has been married for 48 years to Susan - who is a past president of Halesowen Inner Wheel.

He said he was looking forward to his year as president.
