ECCLESHILL pool will get a new roof as part of plans to refurbish the building.
An application to add a new roof to the building off Harrogate Road was approved by Bradford Council on Wednesday.
The existing roof will be converted to a pitched roof, which the Council says will help make the building more energy efficient and extend its life span.
Eccleshill Pool attracts around 150,000 customers every year.
It is a key part of delivering the Key Stage 2 swimming programme to 23 schools in the area.

The application, submitted shortly before Christmas, said: "The replacement roofing will add heat loss upgrade, lifetime value and improve the overall maintenance of the existing building."
Approving the scheme, officers said: "The proposed alterations to the roof of the Swimming Pool are not considered to have any adverse effect on visual amenity or on the residential amenity of any neighbouring
properties."
