A HALESOWEN couple have reached the finals of a national wedding competition - with the prize a dream trip to the Maldives.
Kirsty and Drew Canavan are one of twelve couples through to the final of the Easy Wedding of the Year 2019 competition - which is voted for by the public.
They are appealing for people to vote for their Prince Harry and Meghan Markle inspired big day so they can win a luxury £8k second honeymoon at the Heritance Aarah resort, with a £1.2k cash allowance.
Kirsty, aged 28, is a data analyst for Lloyds banking group and Drew, aged 30, is operations manager at Aston Villa Football Club.
The couple, of Milverton Close, tied the knot in a classic white wedding with 200 guests at Stanbrook Abbey in Worcester last June with their day captured by Nicholas Rogers photography.
Kirsty said: “We wanted something that was modern with a hint of history behind it too.
“I remember watching the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and loved how the pews were facing inwards in the church.
“When we saw the Abbey at Stanbrook had the same traditional look, we were sold.
"Our vision was very natural colours, white, ivory, peach – my nan’s favourite colour.”
More than 120 couples entered the competition - with Kirsty and Drew the only couple from the West Midlands making it through to the final 12.
The voting closes at noon next Thursday (February 13).
