POLICE forced their way into a home in Halesowen today after being alerted by neighbours concerned over the welfare of an elderly man who had fallen.

Officers were called to a home in Blackberry Lane this afternoon (Monday May 18) by neighbours who were concerned about the OAP.

Halesowen police tweeted about the incident at around 2.45pm thanking the neighbours for staying vigilant and appealed for others to watch out for the welfare of elderly neighbours.

They said: "A thank you to neighbours for alerting police regarding elderly male who had fallen in his home in Blackberry Lane, Halesowen.

"Officers have attended & forced entry.

"Male checked over and taken to hospital.

"During these times please remain vigilant over elderly neighbours."
