A KNIFE, thirty wraps of cocaine and cash were discovered when police tracked down a suspected stolen car in Dudley.

A police helicopter alerted traffic patrol to a suspected stolen Renault Megane in car park on Pedmore Road on Saturday afternoon (May 23).

Officers discovered a knife in the centre console, along with four mobile phones, a quantity of cash and about 30 wraps of suspected cocaine in a further search.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of theft, driving while unfit through drugs, possession of a blade and possession of drugs with intent to supply.

Officers also detained a 17-year-old youth on suspicion of theft of a car and a drugs offence.

Both were released pending further enquiries.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We arrested two men on suspicion of theft after officers stopped a suspected stolen Renault Megane in a car park in Pedmore Road, Dudley just after 3.15pm on Saturday (23 May).

"A traffic patrol, alerted by officers in the police helicopter, stopped the car and a knife was found in the centre console. During a further search four mobile phones, a quantity of cash and about 30 wraps of suspected cocaine were also found."
