THE AIR ambulance has landed in Oldbury as a man fights for life after being found in the canal.
Ambulances and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were called to the scene near Brades Road and Summerton Road.
Ambulance crews found a man in a critical condition on their arrival at around 4.24pm - he has been taken to City Hospital.
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance said: "We sent the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care car, the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), one land ambulance and two paramedic officers to the scene.
“On arrival, crews found a man in a critical condition.
"Staff worked quickly to administer advanced life support on scene before conveying him on blue lights and sirens to City Hospital for further treatment.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were alerted by ambulance service colleagues to a man being pulled from the canal in Summerton Road, Oldbury, just after 5pm today (14 July).
"He is receiving treatment from paramedics."
