DUDLEY is set to bake tomorrow with temperatures expected to hit a scorching 31°C

Temperatures could reach 25°C today before climbing to Mediterranean highs of over 30°C on Friday (July 31).

It promises to be a scorching start to the weekend, with sunny weather continuing into the Saturday and Sunday.

Temperatures of around 28° are predicted on Friday afternoon, with the mercury rising between 1pm and 6pm, with a maximum temperature of 31°C.

Meteorologists at the Met Office said to expect: "A predominately sunny day on Friday with temperatures becoming hot. Some cloud may bubble up through the afternoon, but it should stay dry. Maximum temperature 31 °C."

The warmth is not expected to last however as temperatures could fall to 19°C on Sunday, with the Met Office expecting temperatures to plummet at the beginning of next week.

Met Office experts say the weather will stay largely dry on Saturday and Sunday with bright or sunny spells, with the odd shower expected.

Wet and windy weather is expected on Monday along with much cooler temperatures.

Looking ahead to the warm weather, West Midlands Fire Service has urged people to take care around water and not to swim in lakes, quarries, reservoirs and rivers.

They are urging people never to jump or dive straight into open water as currents, unknown depths, hazardous objects or pollution could be under the surface.
