A FUNDRAISER to ensure no elderly Penley resident gets ‘left behind’ has nearly reached its target.

In June the Rainbow Centre in Penley launched a fundraiser to help make their vehicles and the centre itself Covid-19 safe.

This included adding screens to the charity’s minibuses, funding additional staff and ensure social-distancing measures could be followed.

The centre initially set a target of £600, but this was soon reached so a revised target of £1,500 was set, which has now also nearly been reached.

A spokesman for the centre thanked the community for their support.

“We have raised an amazing £1,352,” they said. “That’s 90 per cent of the Rainbow Centre’s Covid Appeal target.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported our appeal so far, you are incredible.

“If you haven’t yet donated to our appeal, its not too late to support us.

“Lets smash that target.”
