Police are continuing to appeal for help following an assault and are now seeking a taxi driver who they think could be a key witness.

Officers in Rossendale investigating an attack in which a man had to be taken to hospital with a fractured skull want to speak with a taxi driver who is thought to have picked a man and a woman up shortly after the incident.

The 36-year-old was taken to hospital to be treated for a fractured skull, after falling to the floor and hitting his head during the attack.
