A SOUTHAMPTON man caught with thousands of images of children has avoided jail.
Arun Kumar previously pleaded guilty to possessing 4,549 indecent images of children.
The 41-year-old was also in possession of 191 prohibited and “nauseating” images of children - including movies.
He was arrested surrounded by family members at his home in Bramley Crescent on August 6 last year.
Kumar appeared at Southampton Crown Court where he was given an eight month sentence suspended for two years.
He must complete 60 days of rehabilitation and 200 hours of unpaid work.
He is the subject of a ten year sexual harm prevention order.
