SEVEN women have been fined after being caught getting out of a limousine together in Sedgley in breach of coronavirus rules.

Police discovered the women from different households who had travelled from Bilston to Sedgley on Saturday night (November 14).

They were fined £200 each for being in breach of the new coronavirus restrictions, which came into effect on November 5.

The limo was first stopped by officers in Bilston where the women, in their 20s, 30s and 40s, allegedly claimed they live in the same household.

But when they got out of the limo in Sedgley police found they had lied and this was not the case.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “Seven women have been issued with Fixed Penalty Notices after travelling together in a stretched limousine from Bilston to Sedgley in breach of Covid restrictions.

“The vehicle was initially stopped in Bilston, where all seven, aged in their 20s, 30s and 40s, alleged they lived in the same household.

“On alighting the vehicle in Sedgley it became clear to officers this was not the case and the fines were issued."
