Champion chef Stuart Deeley has launched a Professional Chefs Academy at Halesowen College.

This extended curriculum designed by Stuart and the college aims to help students build on currents skills and have an insight into the modern fine dining industry.

Stuart, a former student at Halesowen College who won MasterChef: The Professional in 2019, will be sharing techniques that he has developed through his experience at Michelin starred restaurants.

There will also be a range of guest speakers.

Chris Hughes, Chef Lecturer and Course Leader at Halesowen College, said: “We are always grateful to Stuart for all the support he has for the college and for our students. As a previous student he can pass on his experience and knowledge in a great way through the Academy.

“We are working hard to bridge the skills gap due to Covid 19 and introduce more practical sessions and workshops into our courses this year. The Academy will build on this and help to produce some exciting chefs of the future.”

Stuart is due to be in College on Monday 30 November for an introduction to stocks, sauces, dressings and marinades along with presentation techniques.

He will then be in College on Monday 14 December looking at different ways of cooking vegetables.
