A PLAN has been lodged to transform a vacant doctors surgery into a new three bedroom home in Feckenham.
The high street property was previously known as ‘Feckenham Surgery’ which closed circa April 2019, due to a reduced need for the branch surgery.
During the closure it was found there was an average of three patients per week seen (with a total of 22 patients registered) and many available appointments were not used.
This showed there was a small number of patients at the surgery, who now use the nearby Ridgeway Surgery.
According to the plans the surgery was "closed due to several constraints, including poor disabled access, room sizes, computer problems and lone working (e.g. need for chaperones and nurses)".
The converted building will allow for the creation of a three bedroom dwelling house over two storeys. No material alterations are proposed to the building’s façade.
The planning application also seeks a modest ground-floor rear extension.
