THE cause of a 'tragic' house fire in Redditch which left a family with 'nothing' remains unknown.

A blaze ripped through a home on Edgeworth Close early on Monday morning (November 23) and three people were rushed to Alexandra Hospital.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire investigation is still underway and no cause has yet been established."

Following the fire, family friend Charlotte Paris set up a GoFundMe page, which has now raised well over £3000 for the family.

She said: "My beautiful close friend and her family were awoken to a house fire which took all their belongings and sadly their dog died.

"They have nothing but the clothes on their backs. I am asking for any donations no matter how big or small to help them through this awful tragedy. I am so grateful they all made it out safely and appreciate all generosity."

On Twitter, Support Redditch Emergency Network said: "We were asked to support a family who lost everything in a house fire this morning. Whilst @RedditchMatters works on rehoming we have provided clothes, shoes and food for now as part of our mission to help in local emergency situations.

"St Andrew’s Church in Church Hill will be creating a donation drop zone for clothing and other items. We will provide support until these donations are sorted and provided to the family."
