A Stourbirdge choir is planning a world-wide singalong this weekend.

What is Christmas without song, say the ‘Got 2 Sing’ choir, which is determined to serve up the kind of Christmas spirit ‘to make your heart sing!’

The choir is throwing open an invitation to anyone - far and wide – to join them this Saturday (December 19) at 5pm for a virtual ‘Great Big Christmas Got 2 Sing-Along’ which is to be premiered live on YouTube.

Local members will be joined by fellow members from across the country on-line to sing some all-time Christmas classics, from ‘O Holy Night’ to ‘Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.’ Everyone is welcome to join in – be it from their armchair, bed, desk or workstation.

The choir’s aim is to bring the festive spirit through song into as many homes, hospitals, hospices and workplaces as it can on the evening!

Charlotte Crowe, Creative and Development Partner at Got 2 Sing Choir, said: “It has been an extremely difficult year for everyone so we came up with the idea to spread a little joy!

“We also realised how much the pandemic had impacted on charities’ fund-raising efforts too and decided that we would also try and help one of the UK’s most worthy charities, Hospice UK, along the way.

“We can’t shake a tin for them so we are also trying to raise awareness of this wonderful charity via our premiere too.”

To view or join in go to YouTube and find ‘Got2SingUK’ and wait for the party to begin.
