Shoppers across Dudley and the Black Country are being urged to Buy British as part of a campaign supported by a local MP to help businesses back on their feet after Covid and Brexit.

Dudley North’s Marco Longhi said communities needed to show the togetherness they did throughout the pandemic and support their high streets and local businesses to boost the economy but also create much-needed jobs.

The Buy British campaign launched by Blue Collar Conservatism, which Marco is part of, wants to help businesses recover by promoting all things British in 2021 as the UK breaks ties with the European Union.

He said: “Across our area we have excellent businesses such as John Green Family Butchers and many more.

“We all know ‘Made in Britain’ is the hallmark of a high quality product and we can and should be proud of that. We need to all come together and support our high streets, shops and businesses so 2021 can be the year we move on and rebuild our economy and create jobs for our future generations.

“This year has been extremely tough for businesses and many people have lost their jobs and I hope that this campaign will encourage everyone to think about where they shop, what they are buying and put money back into our economy to get people back into jobs and create more opportunities for our future generations.”

Blue Collar Conservatism is a grass roots campaign made up of more than 160 MPs in Westminster, who ‘want to give a voice to hard-working British voters’ and ensure Government policy reflects the needs of their families and communities.
