A DUDLEY man accused of killing his baby daughter is set to stand trial next week.

Philip Peace, of Himley Road, is set to go on trial for the murder of the five-month-old at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday (January 18).

He has also denied manslaughter.

The baby was taken to hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest more than three years ago, on September 8, 2017 and died the following day.

The trial of Peace, aged 42, is expected to last five weeks and will be heard by a jury.

At an hearing last June Judge Michael Chambers QC rejected a defence application for the address of Peace to be withheld from publication.

Peace was remanded on unconditional bail.
