POLICE have arrested a ninth person as part of their investigation into the shooting of taxi firm boss Mohammed Haroon Zeb last month.

Mr Zeb, known as Haroon, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Queens Cross in Dudley just after 12.35am on January 31.

A post mortem found the 39-year-old died from a gunshot wound.

A 47-year-old man is currently in police custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Two men have already appeared at court in relation to the case and have been remanded ahead of their next court appearance.

Hassan Tasleem, aged 23, of Richmond Road, appeared at court two weeks ago after being charged with Haroon’s murder.

Akarsh Tasleem, aged 25, of Shaw Road, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder last Thursday (February 18).

A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, and three men - aged between 19 to 26 - were previously detained on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They have all been bailed.

A 37-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of murder but has since been released with no further action. Another man, aged 20 has also been arrested and released on bail.
