IT LOOKS like a new carpet shop will open in Netherton after plans were approved.
The carpet shop looks set to open at Audenshaws Car Centre on Halesowen Road, after a proposal to use part of the car sales site for a shop were approved by Dudley Council.
The car sales site is opposite Lidl.
A design and access statement states: "In recent times the use of the car sales site has diminished and the owners are looking to expand their operations into similar fields of opportunities which would allow for potential retail sales from the site in a synergy with the current uses.
"The car sales will continue to operate from the same building, but on a reduced forecourt area."

The application states that: "Two full time and two part time members of staff are proposed to be employed."
A report recommending the plan be approved states "the site is most likely to be a carpet retailer who would display samples within the building and allow for visitors and customers to pull in on site to make purchases and place orders.
"Carpets would be delivered or collected from the suppliers elsewhere and carpet storage would not be handled from the existing building.
"The use of the site would also be suitable for other large bulky goods sales or similar home improvement sales."
The shop would open from 8am till 8pm Monday to Friday and from 8am till 6pm Saturdays and 10am till 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
