A DRIVE-IN coronavirus testing centre in Brierley Hill is moving to a new location this weekend.

Currently based on Engine Lane, the mobile testing unit has been testing people who are showing symptoms of Covid-19.

It will remain operational at its present site until Friday April 30 and from Saturday (May 1) it will relocate to Dudley Council’s Saltwells Education Centre.

The mobile testing unit, which is drive-in only, will be located on the centre’s car park and signs will be in place to direct people.

Rapid symptom-free testing is also available within the main building.

Karen Wright, director of public health at Dudley Council, said: "We’re pleased to support colleagues within NHS test and trace and accommodate the mobile testing centre at Saltwells.

"It means we’ll have testing for people who are showing symptoms of coronavirus and those who are symptom-free in the same location but I can assure people both testing centres will be run in isolation and there will be absolutely no contact between the two."

Testing for people with coronavirus symptoms is also available on foot in Dudley, Lye and Stourbridge.
