PEOPLE who want to get active outdoors with the easing of lockdown restrictions are invited to try out free instructor led fitness sessions in parks across the Dudley borough.

Outdoor activities will initially be taking place in three parks every weekend.

Qualified volunteer instructors will be taking participants through a 45-minute circuit-based workout - suitable for all ages and abilities.

The classes follow the latest Covid-19 guidance and are family friendly, with participants able to work at their own level.

Sessions take place every Saturday at 9.45am in Stevens Park, Wollescote, Stourbridge.

On Sundays, people can attend the sessions at Grange Park, Dudley, at 10am, or Stevens Park, Quarry Bank, at 11am.

Karen Wright, director of public health, said: "Exercising in the fresh air has huge physical and mental health advantages and I’m delighted we are now able to get the popular Park Active sessions up and running again.

"This activity is led by fully qualified fitness instructors who are volunteers that have trained through the Park Active programme.

"People of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend but everyone must book their space in advance and are asked to follow Covid-19 guidance as we carefully lift lockdown."

Each group is currently limited to 30 participants, who must book online in advance, and all sessions are weather dependent.

No additional equipment is required, participants should wear suitable clothing and footwear and take hand sanitiser and a drink.
