BLACK Country T-shirts has been named UK T-Shirt printer of the year by a national magazine.

Corporate Livewire has recognised the Dudley printer for their contribution to the community, with their emphasis on giving back to the Black Country.

The shop which was set up in 2007 specialises in custom clothing printing such as t shirts, hoodies, socks, bags, and canvases.

Stephen Pitts, who works at Black Country T-shirts said: “It is incredibly rewarding to receive this name as we do have a very specific ethic. We promote our community and I think the award recognises this and that we have created a better part of our community. When people buy from us it goes back into things that benefit them. “

“For the past 2 years, we have started a Black Country Poppy appeal, creating a special edition Black Country poppy pin badge along with the help of the Dudley Remembers committee who have been putting on remembrance concerts in Dudley for a number of years collecting money for the Royal British Legion.

“All proceeds from the badges are split between securing future events & a direct donation to the Royal British Legion. Last year we raised £1,300.”

The judging panel for the award praised the shops dedication and their audience which stretches further than the Black country and England.

Black Country T-Shirts are also the founders of The Black Country Festival, which is a series of independently organised events through July every year around the date of Black Country day on July 14.
