A NEW fine art gallery has now opened in Redditch - selling works from both local and international artists.

It's called 'art is ar't the gallery' and located in an external unit at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre.

The new art gallery will offer a range of original artworks and limited edition prints.

Owner Dermot O'Connor, from Stourport, says art buyers previously had to travel to Birmingham, Solihull, Stratford or Merry Hill in Dudley to find this kind of gallery experience.

The gallery was initially supposed to open in November last year, but plans were delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The team at the gallery consists of Mr O'Connor and art consultants Lucy Silina and Tracy Taylor.

They have linked up with DeMontfort Fine Art to showcase international artists such as Fabian Perez, Doug Hyde, Dan Pearce, Simon Kenny, Sue Payton, Mark Curryer, along with talented, up-and-coming local artists.

The gallery has original artworks and exclusive limited edition prints from DeMontfort's stable.

Mr O'Connor says they will be selling affordable artwork to suit a range of tastes.

He said: "It's been a long time coming because it was originally due to open in November 2020.

"We are very excited to be bringing this art experience to Redditch."

It officially opened on Saturday (May 8).
