A MALE motorcyclist was rushed to hospital on June 8 after suffering serious injuries from a crash on Northfield Road in Netherton.

Paramedics were called to the scene at 1:15pm and administered 'advanced trauma care' to the biker following a crash with a car.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC involving a car and a motorcyclist on Northfield Road, Netherton at 1.15pm yesterday.

"A passing PTS high dependency crew came across the incident and stopped to render aid.

"An ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic on board were sent to the scene.

"The motorcyclist, a man, sustained serious injuries in the collision and received advanced trauma care at the scene by the team of ambulance staff.

"Once stabilised the man was conveyed by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care."

West Midlands Police have been contacted for comment.
