THREE men have been arrested after a police chase across Dudley and Tipton.

Whilst on patrol in Gornal, officers from Brierley Hill C team saw a cloned, stolen car in Kent Street.

The car was not displaying a front registration plate and when police tried to stop the vehicle, it made off at speed.

Officers said as they pursued the car, the occupants threw items at the police vehicle including a metal bar.

The car also stopped and reversed into the police vehicle.

The pursuit, which lasted 15 minutes across Dudley and Tipton, led to the car loosing one of its tyres and the occupants ran off.

A spokesperson for Brierly Hill C team said: “Following a foot chase we detained three of them, checks revealed that the car had been stolen last month.

"Inside the car we found hammers, gloves, face coverings, a pickaxe handle and a knife.”

The three men were arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and going equipped for theft.

All three males remain in custody.
