THREE men are set to stand trial after two young brothers from Dudley were killed in a car crash.

Sanjay Singh, aged ten, and his 23-month-old brother Pawanveer were killed when the car they were travelling in with their mother was hit by an Audi S3 on the Birmingham New Road in Wolverhampton in March 2019.

Their mother was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but the two boys were pronounced dead at the scene.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court today (Thursday, October 28), Mohammed Sullaiman Khan, of Pershore Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, pleaded not guilty to causing the boys’ deaths while driving dangerously and causing serious injury.

Hamza Shahid, aged 34, of Newbridge Road, Birmingham, pleaded not guilty to dangerous driving and Rashane Henry, aged 30, of Fairway Green, Bilston, denied assisting an offender.

A plea and direction hearing is set to be held on January 28 2022, and a trial has been scheduled for October 24 2022. The defendants were granted unconditional bail.

Three other defendants were also charged in relation to the crash.

Tejinder Singh, aged 29, of Babors Field, Bilston, is charged with an offence of assisting an offender.

Mohammed Adil Khan, aged 33, of Newnham Road, Edgbaston, and Mohammed Asim Khan, aged 34, of Shaftmoor Lane, Hall Green, are both charged with perverting the course of justice.

Their cases will be heard at a later date.
