A MAN in his 20s has died after the car he was in hit a tree in Dudley in the early hours of Sunday, November 14.

The incident happened in Burton Road at around 0:30 am which was cordoned off for forensic examinations after the tragedy.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent and arrived within three minutes of the 999 call being made.

An off-duty member of WMAS, who came across the RTC, also stopped to assist on scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a car which had collided with a tree.

"The driver, a man, was in a critical condition and was rapidly extricated from the vehicle with help from the fire service.

"Once released, ambulance crews commenced advanced life support.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene a short time later.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Our serious collision investigators are working to establish what happened and anyone with information or dash cam footage should contact us via Live Chat on our website or by emailing FL_COLLISION_INVEST@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk quoting log 110 of the 14/11."

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and the road was re-opened just after 8.30am Sunday morning.
