THE proposed closure of Brierley Hill High Street for Saturday November 27 has been cancelled due forecasted high winds and severe weather.
Highways chiefs had planned to close the road for a street market and fair ahead of the switching on of the town's Christmas lights at 5pm.
But due to the bad weather that's been forecast - the street market will no longer take place and there will be no large fun fair rides in operation.
There will, however, be some entertainment in the indoor market and free children’s rides and entertainment at the Moor Centre.
The Christmas lights will still be switched on as planned at 5pm.
