AS temperatures drop this week, residents across the Dudley borough are reminded they can get help on staying warm at home this winter.

Dudley Council’s winter warmth service aims to help residents stay well and keep their homes warm through a number of initiatives.

The service provides expert advice and tips to help people save money.

It can also help people access free home insulation and new energy efficient boilers, if they qualify, plus emergency heating to people in real need.

Anyone concerned about being cold in their home, or worried about a friend, relative or neighbour can call and request free assistance.

The winter warmth service has been running for 10 years and has helped thousands of residents stay warm during the cold winter months.

Councillor Laura Taylor-Childs, Dudley's cabinet member for housing and communities, said: "As we head into the winter months, it’s really important we keep our homes warm to help us stay well.

"We know energy prices are soaring at the moment so people may really benefit from the free advice our winter warmth service can provide.

"Please get in touch if you are struggling or worried about how you will cover the cost of heating your home this winter."
