ROADS in Sedgley will be closed to traffic this Sunday (November 28) for the switching on of the Christmas lights.

Ettymore Road, from Townsend Avenue to Bull Ring; Gospel End Street (from the access alongside number 67 Gospel End Street to Bull Ring) and Hall Street, from Ettymore Road To Gospel End Street; and Mill Bank (from Bull Ring to 25 metres east of Bull Ring) will be closed from midday to 9pm while the festivities take place.

There'll also be a temporary ban on parking and loading in Dean Street between Bull Ring and Vicar Street and Ettymore Road between Netherby Road and Townsend Avenue; and a temporary suspension of the one-way order in Dean Street (between Vicar Street to Bull Ring).

Traffic will be diverted via Ettymore Road, Netherby Road, Gospel End Road, Vicar Street, Dudley Street, and vice versa.

Traffic on Dudley Street and Bull Ring will be controlled by traffic signals.

Access to Mill Bank and Whitesmiths Close will be via Bilston Street Car Park.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained during the temporary road closures which have been ordered to ensure the festive event goes ahead safely.

Dudley Council has organised the official Christmas lights switch-on event, which will include live entertainment, street entertainers, market stalls and seasonal refreshments.
