THE Sedgley branch of Barclays is set to close next March.

It has been announced the popular bank on Bull Ring is scheduled to close on Friday, March 2022.

The banking giant say the number of counter transactions has gone down in the two years to March 2020 and 80 per cent of branch customers use other ways to bank.

According to figures, in the past twelve months, 31 per cent of Sedgley branch’s customers have been using nearby branches and only 121 customers use the branch exclusively.

The nearest branches to Sedgley are three miles away on High Street, Dudley or Gravel Hill, Wombourne.

There will now only be two cash machines in Sedgley town centre, one at Nationwide on Dudley Street and one at Asda on High Holborn Road.

Customers can still bank with the Barclays app, the Post Office, online banking, telephone banking and LINK cash machines.
