A DUDLEY schoolboy rocked out on The Voice Kids, winning plaudits from the judging panel.

Joseph, aged 11, appeared on the ITV show this week where he impressed judges with his singing and guitar skills.

The youngster performed hit Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus in front of judges Mel C, Will.i.am, Pixie Lott and Danny Jones from McFly.

Joseph, who attends Beacon Hill Academy in Sedgley, was cheered on by his proud parents Terry and Kay.

He also received a video message of support from his older brother Josh who is overseas serving as a doctor in the military.

The Spice Girls star and McFly singer both turned their chairs for Joseph during his blind audition.

Praising the schoolboy, Mel C said: "You are all kinds awesome, I had to turn around because loved what you were playing, how you were playing it and singing.”

He also got the chance to get up on stage and perform the AC/DC classic Back in Black with Danny after his audition.

Joseph picked Danny to be his mentor for the next round but he missed out on a place in the final.

His school got behind his efforts, with Beacon Hill Academy posting on Facebook: "Well done to the amazing and talented Joseph from Beacon Hill Academy who appeared on The Voice last night and absolutely rocked!! #DreamingBig".
