THE driver of a stolen car escaped from police in Dudley by reversing at speed, police have said.
Officers from Dudley Town Police spotted the cloned Ford Fiesta at a set of traffic lights today (Saturday January 8).
They tried to smash the window to stop the driver getting away, but he managed to escape.
The car was found abandoned a short time later and has been sent for forensic tests.
Dudley Town Police said on Twitter: "Whilst on patrol we saw this cloned car at traffic lights. We attempted to smash the window as the driver reversed at speed, however he managed to escape.
"We found the car abandoned and confirmed it was stolen recently. It has now been recovered for a forensic examination."
