AN Audi driver was arrested after a police chase around Dudley involving the police helicopter and dog unit.

Traffic cops from West Midlands Police took to Twitter to highlight the outcome of the pursuit which took place in the early hours of this morning (Monday January 10).

The West Midlands Police dog unit and National Police Air Service were drafted in to assist during the chase and the motorist was eventually arrested as he tried to flee through gardens.

Police said on Twitter: "The driver of this Audi made off from us in the early hours and was pursued around Dudley before decamping and being tracked into gardens by @WMPDogs & @NPASMidlands.

"When we arrested him it turned out he had only done it because he didn’t have a licence/insurance. #AbsolutelyBonkers."
