A STORE manager at Aldi in Netherton is celebrating a milestone 25-years working for the supermarket.

Paul Lloyd, store manager at the Saltwells Road store, first joined the supermarket in 1997.

The 45-year-old started off as a store assistant at the Handsworth store, before working at multiple other stores across the West Midlands and eventually progressing to his current role back in 2017.

During his time at Aldi Paul has gone above and beyond his typical store duties by helping to train and progress a number of colleagues.

He has also taken part in several store fundraisers for the supermarket’s chosen charity, the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Paul said: “It has been a privilege to work at Aldi for 25 years.

"I’ve loved working here and want to thank the customers and my amazing colleagues who make it such a great place to come to work every day.”

When asked about his favourite products at Aldi, Paul replied: “You can’t not love the new lemon filled doughnuts! They are the perfect treat after a shift.”

Marius Manolescu, Regional Managing Director at Aldi UK said: “Without the hard work and dedication of our store colleagues, we wouldn’t be able to provide customers with the excellent and efficient service we’ve become known for.

“Colleagues like Paul are the cornerstone of our business and I thank him for his continued dedication throughout the last 25 years.”
