MERRY Hill shoppers are invited to nominate someone special to win a luxury makeover experience in celebration of the Jubilee bank holiday.

Residents across Dudley are encouraged to nominate the queen in their lives and explain in three sentences or less why they deserve to be treated to a VIP pamper experience at the centre.

The lucky winner will enjoy a makeover worth more than £700, including a gel pedicure courtesy of Mint, a hamper of luxurious bath and body products from Tranquil Spa, afternoon tea for two at Oopsy Daisies and a colour, cut, and treatment from Bad Apple Hair.

A £100 Merry Hill gift card and £100 to spend in store at All Good Things with a personal shopper will also be included in the bumper prize.

To enter the competition, entrants are invited to submit their entries to the Merry Hill Facebook or Instagram page detailing why their nominee deserves to win.

The competition will close at 5pm on Tuesday May 31, and the winner will be announced on Wednesday June 1 via the Merry Hill social channels.

To mark the royal occasion, between 11am and 3pm on Wednesday June 1 Royal Guards on stilts will be parading through the lower mall near River Island and Primark, and the Capriccio Quarter will bring music fit for a queen to Garden Court.

A parade of dancing soldiers will also be pirouetting on the lower and upper mall via River Island and Primark to the sound of a string quarter – and they'll be on the lookout for dance partners.

Jonathan Poole, centre manager at Merry Hill, said: “We wanted to celebrate the jubilee in true British style but with a twist.

"We’ll be treating our visitors to a day of exceptional entertainment and offering the opportunity to win an indulgent makeover experience for someone special at Merry Hill, so they can be treated like royalty for a day.

"We want to create an atmosphere that helps our visitors get jubilee bank holiday ready."
