POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a woman was injured in a two-car crash in Quarry Bank.
The incident happened in Coppice Lane at around 10.10pm on Thursday May 19.
A 30-year-old woman, who had been driving one of the cars, was taken to hospital by paramedics after being rescued from the wreckage and she was understood to be awaiting surgery this week, having suffered serious injuries.
West Midlands Ambulance Service sent one ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene and a spokesperson said: "On arrival we found a woman. She was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.
"She received treatment at the scene. She was conveyed to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment.”
West Midlands Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident and a spokesperson for the force said: "The driver of the second car did not remain at the scene and we are continuing our enquiries to identify and trace them.
"Officers have spoken with witnesses and have retrieved CCTV. We would ask anyone who has information to get in contact."
