REPORTS of violence and sexual offences were the highest reported crime in March, according to the latest police data.

Figures from police.uk show there were a total of 3,517 crimes reported across the conurbation in March.

Violence and sexual offences was the most reported crime - with 1,111 reports - across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole in March.

This was followed by anti-social behaviour which was reported 842 times in the same month.

Across the conurbation the third highest crime was criminal damage and arson which received 296 reports.

Vehicle crime (260), other theft (246) and criminal damage and arson (296) all received similar rates of reports throughout March in the BCP council area.

The lowest reported crimes were theft from a person (12), possession of weapons (20) and robbery (30).

Bournemouth saw a total of 2,069 reports, Christchurch received 289 and Poole had 1,159 crimes reported in March 2022.
