THE Body Shop has unveiled a new concept store at Merry Hill – encouraging shoppers to explore products and find out more about ethical beauty solutions.

The new interactive store, located in the same unit as before, includes a new refill station – as the beauty brand is on a mission to make refilling bottles mainstream.

Customers can buy a refillable 300ml aluminium bottle and fill it up with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hand washes and when it’s empty just bring back the cleaned bottle to be refilled.

The store, which opened on Saturday June 4, has also been fitted out with sustainable fixtures made from reclaimed wood and recycled plastics to help minimize its environmental footprint. It also has worktop surfaces manufactured from 100 per cent recycled material destined for landfill.

There’s also an activism hub where people can discover the brand’s activist roots as well as campaign for social change around issues ranging from gender equality to fighting cosmetic animal testing.

Customers can find out how they can get involved and take a stand with The Body Shop’s global and local collective of activists.

The store is also offering customers the opportunity to recycle their beauty product packaging by notifying staff when they want to return and recycle any empty Body Shop bottles, tubs, tubes and pots.

There’s also a gifting station offering shoppers chance to personalise gifts with stamps, ribbons and recyclable paper and stickers.

Jonathan Poole, centre manager at Merry Hill, said of the new store: “We are thrilled that The Body Shop has chosen Merry Hill to unveil their new sustainable store concept.

“We are constantly striving to bring new shopping experiences to our customers, now and for future generations.”
