A TIM Hortons fan who sat in their car for more than sixteen hours outside the new Merry Hill branch has been rewarded for her tenacity by winning free coffee every day for the whole year.

Aisha Naz arrived at the drive-thru queue at the new Tim Hortons at 2.30pm yesterday (Sunday June 19) and claimed to claim her prize, worth £3,100, when it opened at 7am today (Monday June 20).

Sadia Ali was the first walk-in customer at the popular Canadian coffee chain's restaurant, which is at the former Frankie and Benny's unit, on Station Drive.

She also arrived at 2.30pm yesterday and faced an overnight wait to claim her prize!

Aisha and Sadia are friends.

A spokesman for Tim Hortons said: "Tim Hortons has today officially opened its doors at the Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill!

"The brand new drive-thru restaurant is now welcoming customers to try its famed Canadian offering from 6am till midnight, seven days a week.

"To celebrate the opening the restaurant gifted the first 100 customers with a free breakfast meal, as well as awarding the first customer the first drive-thru and restaurant queue free coffee, every day for the whole year!

"Sadia Ali was the lucky winner as the first walk-in customer, while Aisha Naz arrived at the drive-thru queue at 2.30pm yesterday to claim her prize!"

The opening of the new eaterie next to McDonald's and American Golf, has created 25 full time and 35 part time jobs.

The restaurant will offer a traditional dine-in experience, takeaway or drive-thru, and delivery via selected delivery partners.

Tim Hortons is known for its hot drinks, sandwiches, doughnuts and 'timbits' - mini doughnut balls.

To celebrate the opening, the brand is running a month of giveaways including free drinks and donuts as well as exclusive deals.
