POLICE have released a statement after two boys were attacked and robbed at a Dudley park.

Officers said they are investigating after the two 16-year-old boys were assaulted in Priory Park at around 6.20pm yesterday (Sunday June 19).

They said the boys were "attacked by a group of five male youths who kicked and punched the pair before taking one of their phones" and appealed for witnesses to contact them.

An ambulance went to the scene and the boys were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’re investigating after two teenage boys were assaulted in Priory Park, Dudley around 6.20pm yesterday (19 June).

"The boys, both aged 16, were attacked by a group of five male youths who kicked and punched the pair before taking one of their phones.

"We are working to identify those responsible and are urging anyone with information or who witnessed the attack to contact us via Live Chat on our website or by calling 101.
