A MAN was taken to hospital after a van and a car crashed in Sedgley.

The accident happened on High Street near the junction with Bilston Street at 2.34pm yesterday (Monday June 20) and caused delays for motorists and public transport.

One man, the van driver, was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2:34pm to reports of an RTC between a van and car on High Street in Sedgley.

"We sent one ambulance to the scene and treated the driver of the van for injuries not believed to be serious and he was conveyed to hospital for further treatment.”

The accident caused congestion, with buses affected.

National Express West Midlands tweeted at 3.37pm: "Service disruption.

"Due to an incident High Street, Sedgley which has now cleared, we are seeing delays on the 1 service.

"Please allow extra time for your journey."
