DUDLEY police have thanked members of the public for their help to locate a distressed teenaged girl after an appeal was issued to trace her.

Police put out an appeal earlier today (Friday June 24) to try to find the girl who was seen getting into a grey SUV vehicle outside The Woodman pub in Dudley on Thursday June 23 and who appeared to be “very distressed”.

The girl, however, has since been identified and police have confirmed she had been found safe and well.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Thanks to everyone who has shared our appeal over the last 12 hours to trace a girl who we had concerns for outside The Woodman pub in Dudley last night (June 23).

“Some good news. We have identified the girl and confirmed that she is safe and well.

“Enquiries are now ongoing to establish what happened.”
