THE case of a man charged with attempted murder after an incident at a Dudley petrol station has been put back until later this month due to strike action by barristers.
Stephen Burden, aged 30, was listed to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday (Monday July 11) in connection with an incident at the Texaco service station, in Himley Road, on June 2 in which a 20-year-old man suffered serious burns.
The case, however, did not go ahead due to industrial action being taken by barristers seeking a a 25 per cent rise in pay for legal aid work, representing people who could not otherwise afford lawyers.
Burden, of Wilkinson Road, Wednesbury, was remanded in custody until July 25 when he is due to appear before the crown court for a plea and directions hearing.
