A PAIR of Dudley schools will be served up a treat by becoming the first to receive a prestigious prize at a health awards ceremony.

Castle High School and Visual Arts College and Bishop Milner Catholic School will both receive a Platinum Food for Health Award at a Health Promoting Schools seminar at Saltwells Education Centre next Friday (February 22).

To get the Platinum Award each school had to implement a food policy, have a trained facilitator serving up Get Cooking! workshops and already hold a Gold Dudley Food for Health Award.

Patricia Bussell, Dudley PCT Food and Nutrition Programme Manager, said: "An organisation achieving the Food for Health Platinum Award demonstrates that promoting healthy eating requires a holistic approach, not only the provision of healthy menu options, but raising awareness and understanding of healthy eating."
