A FAMILY has been left ‘devastated and heartbroken’ after their Kingswinford home was destroyed by a suspected arson attack.

On Sunday, August 14 a house on Wolverhampton Road was severely damaged after a garden fence is believed to have been deliberately set alight.

Fortunately, no one was in the house at the time and no one was injured.

Noor Elahi, who lives in the property, posted on Facebook that ‘he is standing strong’ to protect his family.

He posted: “Our home at Wolverhampton Road has been destroyed by fire and the investigation is ongoing.

“Words cannot describe what me and my family are going through.

“We are devastated and heartbroken.

“My family is safe Alhamdulillah.

“I am standing strong to support and protect my family and need your prayers.”

A fundraiser set up by Kingswinford resident, Emily Smith has raised more than £740 in nine hours to support Mr Elahi and his family.

Emily wrote on the GoFundMe page: “Luckily, they were not home at the time else things could have been much worse.

“Hopefully, Kingswinford can come together and raise just a little bit of money to help them as they start to try and get back on their feet.”
