CLOUDY skies helped a Dudley snapper to get plenty of shots of this morning’s partial solar eclipse.
News Group Camera Club member Rik Freeman was ready with his camera to capture the stunning sight which was visible from 10.08am until 11.51am this morning (Tuesday October 25).
A partial solar eclipse occurs when the moon partially obscures the sun.
The morning’s eclipse, which peaked at 10.59am, was the only one visible from the UK for some time. The next will be in March 2025.
Dudley photographer Rik Freeman was among those lucky enough to see it. He also managed to get some excellent shots on camera which he has shared on our News Group Camera Club page on Facebook.
He said he expected it to be a struggle to capture it with cloudy skies - adding: “It was real hit or miss. There was so much cloud I did not think I stood a chance, so I waited outside and took any shot I could in the gaps.
“Luckily it worked out well with the clouds acting as a natural diffuser, cutting down the intensity of the sun - allowing me to grab a load of shots.”
