TWO men are appearing at court today charged with possession of firearms - with one incident in Dudley town centre and another in Wrens Nest Nature Reserve.
A man was stopped in Dudley High Street around midday yesterday (Sunday January 22) by police who seized a firearm.
The 23-year-old has been charged with possession of a loaded air weapon in a public place and was due to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today.
In a separate incident a man and a boy were arrested in Wrens Nest Nature Reserve after someone reported hearing rifle shots, possibly being targeted at birds, at around 2.30pm yesterday.
Armed police arrested the pair and conducted a thorough search of the woodland, finding an air weapon.
A 38-year-old man was charged with possession of an air weapon in a public place and was due to appear before Dudley magistrates today.
A 13-year-old boy was released without charge.
