A MAN who lost control of a £500k Ferrari and smashed it into parked cars in Halesowen has appeared in court.

Richard Cullen, from Romsley, admitted driving without due care and attention and failing to stop to give his details after the crash when he appeared in court last Wednesday (January 18).

On May 25 last year the 50-year-old crashed a Ferrari into parked cars on Hagley Road, in Halesowen, and left the scene.

A picture released by firefighters at Haden Cross station at the time shows the supercar reduced to a mangled wreck.

Court documents state Cullen "lost control of the vehicle and veered into the opposite carriageway failing to correct the course deviation and collided into the front of a vehicle."

The 50-year-old, of St Kenelms Road, who had previously pleaded not-guilty to both charges, changed his plea to guilty on both charges.

Court documents state the crash happened on Quarry Hill, off Hagley Road.

The case, which was heard by Birmingham Magistrates Court sitting at Walsall, was adjourned until February 27 for a pre-sentence report.

Cullen was granted bail.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following the crash.
