A WOMAN who was seriously hurt in an alleged hit-and-run in Dudley has launched an appeal for information to help convict the driver who left her for dead.

Siobhan Edmunds was hit by a suspected silver BMW 1 series as she crossed the road at the junction of Stourbridge Road and Highgate Road.

The crash happened between 5pm and 6pm on November 23 last year.

A woman in her 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident and failing to provide a sample.

She was later released without charge.

Siobhan was rushed to the QE and has had to have three operations - to repair broken bones in her leg, remove a blood clot from her thigh and plastic surgery to repair her skin.

The 37-year-old former West Bromwich Albion sales manager is desperate to get the driver convicted - to make the roads safer for everyone - and is appealing for anyone with any information to contact police.

Siobhan said: "I'm lucky to be alive.

"I was crossing by the Londis and a woman sped the red light and hit me.

"I can't remember anything until I woke up in hospital.

"Witnesses told me she drove off, dumped her car and came back to see if I was alive.

"Police haven't found the car, which is thought to be a Silver BMW 1 series between 05 to 12 plate.

"A witness saw it parked on the King William pub car park.

"I want anyone with doorbell cameras or CCTV or dashcam footage to look to see if they can find anything, or anyone who has seen or repaired the car, which lost its near side wing mirror and received panel damage.

"I was taken to the QE on blue lights and had to have an operation the next day and then another a few days later - my femur and tibia were snapped and I had a blood clot on my thigh.

"I want to stop this happening to anyone else.

"Thank God I'm still here today."
